When our heroes survive the war or traumas that happen through service to our country, they continue to fight those experiences for the rest of their lives.
Our heroes are left to fight battles such as Survivors guilt, PTSD, depression/anxiety, and other visible and invisible wounds that others may or may not understand.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the US military. Military suicides are twice as high as the general population and make up 20% of suicides. First Responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. More than 6% of First Responders have attempted suicide, a rate 10 times higher than the general population.
